HIS SINK // ACNE

The age of acne.

Sorry to break it to you fellas, but acne doesn’t always end when your teenage years are over.

Treatments for this common affliction are out there, but there are a few must do’s and don’ts that you should try first to help clear things up.

Do’s + Don’ts

Acne is not created equal. There are several forms from blackheads and bumps under the skin to white heads and visible pimples over the skin.

If your current regimen isn’t getting the job done, a medicated face wash might be in order. The best way to manage flare ups is to consult with a dermatologist to find out what’s best for you.

If you pop pimples, scratch or itch your face during the healing process, acne can scar your skin. Scars show up as skin discolorations, facial indentations and raised bumps. Ideally, you want to get acne under control before any scarring can occur. If the damage is already done, there are treatments including creams, microdermabrasion, lasers, chemical peels and injections that can improve the appearance of scars.

Listen, acne doesn’t have to derail your cool. Finding a skincare partner is the first step. Dr. Jinan has helped plenty of dudes dodge the downfalls of acne and can help you too.
